Luke left the College in 2014 after completing his IMI Level 1,2 and 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair. He went on to work as a Maintenance Technician for Nemesis Rail.
He told us, “My favourite thing about college was when you had the opportunity to work in the garage at the Johnson Building, working on real customers’, cars carrying out fault diagnosis, rectifying faults and performing routine vehicle servicing. It gave a taste of what working in an actual garage would be like.
“I had an interest in cars and combustion engines and general engineering. The lecturers were great and were always keen to share the knowledge and experiences they had.
Luke explained that his fondest memory is “being chosen to represent derby college in Belgium with other motor vehicle students in a project called “Green Miles”. I met with other motor vehicle students from all over Europe and I’m still in contact with them now.”
